Corem8 vs Locksafe

An honest comparison for UK locksmith businesses deciding where to run their operations. Both products do real work. They do not solve the same problem.

Corem8

Your operations, your customers

A subscription ops platform that lets you run dispatch, payouts, follow-up, and reporting under your own brand. You bring the leads from wherever you want. Customers stay yours forever.

Locksafe

A locksmith marketplace

A consumer-facing booking platform that finds customers, vets locksmiths, and takes a commission per job. Useful as a lead source. Locksafe keeps the customer relationship.

The headline

These two products are often compared because they both touch UK locksmith jobs. They sit at completely different layers of the business.

Locksafe acquires customers, books the job, and pays the locksmith. The locksmith is a worker on the platform. If the locksmith leaves, the customers stay with Locksafe.

Corem8is the operating system inside the locksmith's business. The locksmith brings their own customers (from any source, including Locksafe if they want). Every interaction, invoice, and follow-up goes out under the locksmith's brand. If the locksmith ever leaves Corem8, the customers belong to the locksmith.

You can use both. Many locksmiths will run their core business on Corem8 and treat Locksafe as one of several lead sources plugged into the inbox. What you should not do is rely on Locksafe alone.

Business model

The most important comparison. Everything else flows from how each product makes money.

Trust, compliance, and the things buyers check

B2B buyers, lawyers, and investors look at compliance hygiene before they look at features. The gap here is wide.

When Locksafe is the right call

We will not lie to you about this.

  • You are a solo locksmith with no website, no Google Ads, and no inbound lead flow. Locksafe will start sending you jobs that you would not otherwise have.
  • You want to test demand in a new city without spending on paid acquisition.
  • You are content being a worker on someone else's platform and have no ambition to grow into an independent brand.

In those cases, sign up to Locksafe and accept jobs. There is no shame in using a marketplace at the beginning. The trap is when the marketplace becomes your entire business and you can never leave.

When Corem8 is the right call

  • You have 2+ engineers or subcontractors and need a proper dispatch board.
  • You already get leads from Google Ads, your website, or word of mouth and need a back-office to run them through.
  • You want to see real margin per job (lead source + ad spend + engineer payout + materials), not a guess.
  • You want to follow up with your customers, ask for reviews, and turn one-off jobs into repeat business under your own brand.
  • You want to use Locksafe (and Bark, and Checkatrade) as lead sources, but never depend on any one of them.

Migrating from Locksafe to Corem8

If you are running on Locksafe today and want to take ownership of your customer base, here is the migration path.

  1. 01

Export your locksmith and engineer list from Locksafe

Locksafe's data deletion route covers your account. Before requesting deletion, download any data you can: locksmith profiles, completed jobs, customer contact details you have legitimate access to.

  2. 02

    Import into Corem8

CSV imports for engineers, customers, and historical jobs are supported. Our team will help with the first import.

  3. 03

    Connect your lead sources

Plug Bark, Checkatrade, your website forms, and even a Locksafe-forwarding mailbox into the Corem8 leads inbox. Every lead lands in your back-office.

  4. 04

Move customer communications under your brand

From the moment you switch, every quote, invoice, and follow-up goes out branded as your business. Customers reconnect with you directly.

We do not encourage breaking any contractual term you owe Locksafe (or any other platform). Follow their terms for account closure, payout reconciliation, and outstanding jobs before fully switching.

The honest verdict

If you want to be a worker on someone else's platform, use Locksafe.

If you want to be the platform, use Corem8.

Most growing locksmith businesses end up wanting the second thing. They start by being one of many on a marketplace and quickly realise the customers were never theirs to begin with. Corem8 exists so you do not have to repeat that lesson.
